MARTHAELIN MOUNTAIN

As a Therapist, Doctor of Education, Author, and seasoned Consultant, I bring a unique blend of experience, expertise, and resources to my work with you---in practical problem solving,   resolving what keeps you stuck, and in connecting you with your truer, more authentic Self.

I am grateful for the privilege and responsibilities of providing support and guidance as a therapist.  I set high standards for my work with you.

I understand very well the psychological and emotional shifts of our Midlife and Post-Menopause years.  My first book, Midlife Check-In:  Who Am I Really?  A Guide to Deepening Your Sense of Self in Midlife and Beyond provides the tools and processes for developing a deeper sense of yourself and meaning in your life.   Midlife Check-In includes The Midlife Checklist, a unique 50-item research-based self-assessment for women and men.

presenter
During my 15-year career in Psychology, I have been a frequent speaker and course leader:  Circle of Wisdom, Exploring What Makes Life Meaningful, Midlife Check-in for Proactive Women, and Stress Reduction are some of the programs I have presented.

Two other passions of mine include:  1) sharing with adults the clues that they have a gifted brain and ways to manage and thrive with it, and 2) presenting to parents and schools about the unique social-emotional challenges and diagnostic risks of being gifted.

I present on topics in two key areas:

Identity and Aging
Emotional Challenges
Making Sense of Personal Transformation
Authentic Self vs. Persona

Relationships
Sensitivity and Intensity
Creativity

I have specialized training in EMDR ; Ego State; Mind-Body; CBT therapies; and Neurobiology of the Brain and Trauma.  In addition, I have been studying  Jungian Psychology since 2002.

I have completed a variety of courses with the New York Center for Jungian Studies, Jung Platform, and the Pacifica Graduate Institute.  I am also Board-certified by the Sandplay Therapists of America as a Jungian-based Sandplay Practitioner with adults and children.  My love of Jungian Psychology shows up in my work with clients often.
